Depression Therapy Ottawa
Feel Like Yourself Again.
You don’t have to keep pushing through every day on your own. Get support in person in Westboro, Ottawa, or online anywhere in Ontario.
You’re tired all the time, and everything feels like work.
You wake up tired, even after a full night of sleep. You know you have things to do, but getting started feels hard. Even small things like making dinner, answering a text, or doing the laundry take more out of you than they used to.
You still get through the day. You go to work. You take care of your family. You do what needs to get done. From the outside, you look fine.
But you don’t feel fine.
You don’t have the energy you used to have. You don’t enjoy things the same way. You turn down plans because staying home feels easier. Some days you feel sad. Other days, you don’t feel much of anything at all.
And that can be confusing. You look at your life and think, “I have so much to be happy about. Why do I still feel like this?”
Depression Therapy gives you a place to talk about what’s been going on without having to pretend you’re okay. Together, we can help you understand what’s keeping you stuck. We help you take small steps forward, and start feeling like yourself again.

Questions About Depression Therapy
Am I depressed or just lazy?
If you want to get things done but can’t seem to get yourself to start, there could be more going on.
Depression can leave you tired, stuck, and with little drive to do things. Even simple things like taking a shower or making dinner can feel hard.
If this has been going on for a while, it’s worth talking to someone about it.
Can I be depressed even if my life is good?
Yes.
You can have a good job, people who love you, and a life you’re thankful for and still feel depressed.
You don’t need a big reason to feel the way you do. And you don’t need to wait for something bad to happen before you ask for help.
Is this burnout or depression?
They can feel a lot alike.
Both can leave you tired, checked out, and with no drive to do anything. Burnout often starts around work, school, or caring for other people. Depression can affect how you feel in many parts of your life.
If you can’t tell which one you’re dealing with, therapy can help you sort through what’s been going on.
Why am I tired even after sleeping all night?
Feeling tired all the time can happen with depression.
You can sleep for eight hours and still wake up feeling like you barely slept. Getting through the day can take a lot out of you, too.
There are also many other reasons you can feel tired. If the tiredness is new or doesn’t go away, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor as well.
What is high-functioning depression?
People often use this term when they’re getting through life on the outside but struggling on the inside.
You go to work. You answer emails. You take care of your family. You get things done.
Everyone thinks you’re fine, but you feel tired, empty, or unhappy.
You don’t have to wait until you can’t function to get help.
Why am I so angry and annoyed lately?
Depression doesn’t always look like sadness.
You can have less patience than you used to. Small things get on your nerves. You snap at people you love and then feel bad about it later.
If you don’t feel like yourself and you’re angry more often than usual, it’s worth looking at what’s going on.
What if I’m not sad? I just feel numb.
Depression doesn’t always mean crying all the time.
Sometimes you don’t feel much of anything. You don’t feel excited. Things you used to love don’t interest you. You feel like you’re just getting through the day.
That numb feeling can be part of depression too.
How do I know if I need therapy for depression?
You don’t have to wait until things get really bad.
If you’ve felt tired, sad, numb, stuck, or unlike yourself for a while, therapy can be a good place to start.
You can come in even if you don’t know exactly what’s wrong. We can figure that out together.
What happens in depression therapy?
First, we talk about what life has been like for you and what you want help with.
You don’t have to come in with all the answers. And we’re not going to hand you a huge list of things you need to change.
We start where you are and work on small steps that make your day feel easier.
Do I have to take medication for depression?
No.
Some people use therapy on its own. Others use therapy and medication together.
If you want to learn more about medication, you can talk to your doctor about your options. You can still come to therapy whether you take medication or not.
How long will I need depression therapy?
There isn’t one answer that fits everyone.
Some people come for a short time to work on one thing. Others want support for longer.
We’ll talk about what you want from therapy and check in as we go to make sure it’s helping.
How do I start depression therapy?
You don’t need a referral, and you don’t need to know exactly what to say.
Book a free 20-minute call with our Ottawa team. Tell us a little about what’s been going on, and we’ll help you find a therapist who fits your needs and schedule.
You don’t have to wait until it gets worse.
It’s easy to tell yourself you’ll give it more time. Maybe next week will be better. Maybe you just need more sleep. Maybe you can figure this out on your own.
But if you’ve been thinking about getting help, there’s a reason.
You don’t need to be at your worst to talk to someone. You don’t need a diagnosis. And you don’t need to know what to say when you call.
Start with a free 20-minute call. Tell us what’s been going on, ask any questions you have, and see if our Ottawa team feels like the right fit for you.
