“My deepest desire is for you to feel understood. To maintain relationships that are rewarding, validating and give you a sense of belonging.”

Hi, I’m Benslyne

Growing up in a Caribbean environment, even as a child I questioned the dynamics I had seen between parents and children - the unspoken rule of showing respect to an adult by agreeing with whatever they’d ask. Any hesitation, non conforming behavior, or expressing disagreement would be seen as “talking back”. I always wondered why adults “got to say things and kids didn’t”. Witnessing those interactions, I recalled moments when also I didn’t feel seen, heard, or understood.

Having experienced similar situations, there have been times where I’ve had difficulty putting words to my feelings, effectively communicating them, being assertive and setting boundaries. The work I’ve done as a client and the training I have received to be a therapist have allowed me to gain a deeper understanding on human interactions and how to foster quality communication and maintain fulfilling relationships.

In my practice, I incorporate components from different therapeutic interventions that have been proven effective. Some of the most common approaches I used are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Client-Centered Therapy.

How I Can Help

As a therapist, keynote speaker, and counseling professor, my role is to create a safe space where you feel truly heard and understood. That means stepping into your world with empathy, open-mindedness, and a deep respect for your unique experiences—including your cultural background.

In therapy, you are the expert of your own life. I firmly believe that you already possess the strengths needed to reach your goals. Together, we’ll uncover those strengths and explore how they can help you build and sustain meaningful, healthy relationships.

Beyond one-on-one sessions, I also bring these insights to audiences in corporate and educational settings, helping teams and individuals strengthen their emotional well-being, communication, and connection—whether at home or in the workplace.

No matter how we work together, my mission remains the same: to help you navigate relationships with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
