We Understand Your Story.
Do you ever wonder, “Why can’t I do this one thing?” If so, you're not alone!
Many of our clients ask themselves the same question every day.
You know what to do and want to do it, but starting still feels impossible.
You find yourself staring at a blank screen, unable to type the first word. You put off simple tasks that should only take ten minutes.
The pressure grows bigger until it feels like a big emergency. Only then does your brain start to work.
Even when you’re trying your best, taking that first step can feel so hard. We understand—this isn’t about being lazy. It’s the way your brain works.

Other times, you spend hours looking up facts online and forget about time. You might even forget to eat lunch!
You wonder why your brain chooses what you care about. You ask why you can learn about a new activity for days, but never try it!
Doing many things at once doesn't feel like getting stuff done. Instead, it feels like jumping from one train to another.
You wonder if this hyper-focus is an ADHD thing. We hear this all the time, and you aren't the only one who feels this way.

When people think of memory issues, they usually get it wrong. It's not that you don't know the answer, it's that your brain won't let you grab it when you need it. Does any of this sound familiar?
- Walking into a room and completely forgetting why you went in there.
- Losing your train of thought mid-sentence during an important conversation.
- Making lists and setting alarms, but still having tasks slip through the cracks.
- Remembering a critical task at 2:00 AM, but forgetting it by morning.

- Buying replacements for everyday essentials you just bought last week.
- Retracing your steps multiple times a day just to leave the house on time.
- Feeling constant frustration that basic organization feels so taxing.
You aren't lazy, careless, or irresponsible. Working memory affects how your brain tracks objects, and we help you build systems tailored to how your mind actually works.

You guess wrong on how long simple jobs will take. You show up 30 minutes too early, or you end up 10 minutes late. At the end of the day, you look at the clock and wonder where all the time went!
Deadlines don't feel real to your brain until they sit right in front of your face.
Feeling blind to time isn't just a phrase, it's something you live with every single day. If a task isn't happening today, your mind treats it like it doesn't exist at all!

- Rooms that are only half-cleaned.
- Dozens of open tabs on your phone or computer.
- Planners and apps you downloaded to "get organized."

ADHD doesn't just mess with your focus, it brings huge emotions, too! You get hit with a giant wave of frustration or feel overwhelmed fast.
- Tiny problems feel like big deals in the moment.
- Anger can appear out of nowhere.
- After a tiny argument, it takes a long time for your mind to cool off and feel calm again.
- You relive awkward moments over and over.
Deep down you know it's not a big deal, but it still feels like the end of the world.
Is it hard to wait your turn in conversations?

Do you jump in when others are talking? Do you finish their sentences or talk way more than you planned? This happens a lot, especially when you get excited!
- You share too much before you can stop yourself.
- You talk for 20 minutes, then realize you took over the whole chat.
- You plan what to say next while the other person is still speaking.
This can make you feel guilty or embarrassed. You care about your friends, so feeling this way after a chat is tough.
Do you need background noise to focus and work?

Does your brain always need something extra going on? Sitting in a quiet room with nothing to do can make you feel uneasy.
- You need loud music playing while you get your work done.
- You need the TV on in the background while you eat.
- You need a podcast playing while you clean your room.
- You need a small fidget toy to spin or click so you can sit still.
Boring tasks don't just feel dull, they're uncomfortable!
Recognize yourself in three or more of these? That's worth a conversation.

Book with CaitlinWhat Life Looks Like When You Work With Your Brain
Imagine waking up and not feeling behind. Working on your ADHD does not mean changing who you are. We help you find tools that help your brain so life feels easier. Here is what life looks like when things get better.
You get off the couch without a fight
When you have a job to do, you don't spend hours telling yourself to get up. You use simple steps, pick up your pen, and start. No panic needed.
You look at the clock and time makes sense
You don't lose whole afternoons anymore. You know how long a shower or drive takes. You show up on time without rushing in out of breath.
You can sit back and relax
When work is done, your brain lets you rest. That voice saying "You should be doing something!" gets very quiet. You can watch a movie without feeling bad.
You leave the house without panic
You don't spend mornings searching for things. Your stuff has simple places, so you grab your keys, wallet, or phone and go.
Small problems don't ruin your week
When plans change or you make a mistake, you recover fast. You don't stay upset for days. You take a breath and move on.
You feel present with people you love
You sit with a friend and listen to them without zoning out. You're not thinking about what to say next or about something random, you are just there with them.
You actually finish that cool project
You don't leave many half-done hobbies behind. You enjoy a new activity and best of all, you finish it.
Questions About ADHD Therapy
Am I lazy, or is this really ADHD?
Laziness is when you choose to sit back and relax because you don't care. ADHD is when you care a lot, but your brain freezes up and won't let you get off the couch! If you sit there yelling at yourself to just get up and do the job, that's not laziness. That's a brain road block, and therapy helps you find a way around it.
Can I have ADHD even if I get good grades or do well at my job?
You sure can! Plenty of people with ADHD do great at work or school. But here's the catch: you might be using tons of extra energy and last-minute panic to make it happen. By the time you get home, you're totally wiped out, and your personal life feels messy. Doing well on paper doesn't mean your brain isn't working overtime to keep up.
What actually happens in ADHD therapy? Is it just talking about my childhood?
Nope! It isn't just lying on a couch talking about your past. While we want to hear your story, ADHD therapy is super practical. We figure out how your specific brain works. Then, we test simple tricks to help you start tasks and remember your stuff. We also help you manage big feelings and stop beating yourself up.
Why can I play video games for six hours, but I can't clean my room for ten minutes?
Your brain isn't broken, it's hunting for fun! ADHD brains don't have as much dopamine for boring stuff. Fun things like games give your brain lots of energy, so you look in and lose track of time. Boring chores like laundry don't give you that. Starting them feels like moving a giant rock!
Do I have to take pills if I go to ADHD therapy?
Not at all! Taking medicine is totally your choice, and therapy works great with or without it. In therapy, we focus on daily routines, smart setups, and quick tricks that help you run your day. If you try medication later on, those good habits will help a lot.
Why do I get so mad or upset over little things?
ADHD doesn't just mess with your focus, it brings huge feelings, too! Your brain has a hard time turning down the volume on big emotions. In therapy, you learn how to notice your feelings early. That way, you can cool down before things blow up.
Why do I freeze up when I have a lot of stuff to do?
That frozen feeling happens when your brain gets overloaded by a big list. It shuts down to protect itself. You end up doing nothing at all! Therapy teaches you how to break that big list down into tiny, tiny bites so your brain doesn't freak out.
Why do I buy everything for a new hobby and then quit two weeks later?
That's super common for ADHD minds! Your brain loves new, shiny things. When you pick up a fresh hobby, your brain gets super excited and wants all the cool gear right away. Once the excitement wears off, you lose interest. We help you enjoy fun new ideas without spending all your cash or feeling bad when you move on.
How fast will I start feeling better once I begin therapy?
A lot of people feel a huge weight lift after their very first talk! Learning why your mind acts this way takes away so much guilt. Building new habits takes time and practice. Building habits takes time. But you will leave your first visits with easy steps to try right away!
