POSTPARTUM THERAPY · OTTAWA & WESTBORO · VIRTUAL ACROSS ONTARIO

You just had a baby, and somehow,
you've never felt more alone.

You're not failing. You're not ungrateful. This is postpartum. And you deserve real support.
In-person in Ottawa or virtually anywhere in Ontario.

Postpartum Therapy in Ottawa & Ontario | Therapyw with Empathy

You had a picture in your head of what this would be like. You, snuggled with your baby. Tired, yes. But happy. Thankful. Full of love. Some of that is true. But there is other stuff too.

The stuff nobody warned you about. Or maybe they did. And you just never thought it would be you.

Your body doesn’t feel like yours right now. You’re sore. You’re bleeding. You’re leaking. Nothing feels normal. People say you should be okay with that. Because you have a healthy baby. Right?

But you’re tired in a way that sleep won’t fix. You feel touched out by 10am. You love your baby. You also feel overwhelmed by your baby. Both things are true at the same time. And that makes you wonder if something is wrong with you.

If this isn’t your first, that makes it even harder. You’ve done this before. You should know by now. So why does it still feel like you’re drowning? Why are you still googling things at 3am? Still not sure you’re doing it right? Still feeling like you’re failing at something you’ve already done?

Maybe breastfeeding isn’t going the way you planned. Your baby isn’t latching. You’re in pain. You’ve watched the videos. Tried the positions. Asked your mom, your friend, that account you follow. Nothing is working. You don’t feel supported. You feel more lost. More like you’re doing it wrong.

Not sleeping makes everything harder. You lose patience before the day even starts. You yell at your partner. You feel bad about it. If you have other kids, you get mad at them too. You know you have no energy. But knowing doesn’t help.

You’re getting through the day. But it doesn’t feel like living. It feels like waiting. Waiting to feel like yourself again. Wondering if you even remember who that was.

This isn’t the baby blues. This isn’t you being dramatic. This is postpartum. And more moms feel this way than you know.

You don’t have to come in and hold it together. You don’t have to look on the bright side. You can just say this is really hard. And mean it.

And we’ll go from there.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. You were never supposed to.

This is what it can feel like on the other side.

You find your way back to "you."

You stop feeling like you are just a “mom machine.” There’s no longer a dark cloud following you everywhere. You discover a new version of yourself. Your partner gets their teammate back, too.

You stop reacting and things feel peaceful.

You stop snapping at your partner over the small things. You stop losing your cool with the other kids. You find the calm you thought was gone forever. Your kids get a mom who can finally breathe.

You give your baby a healthy mom.

Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for your baby. You move from just “getting through the day” to actually being present. You stop worrying that you are failing them and start to enjoy your life together.

We make getting started easy.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you call. You just have to be willing to try. We’ll handle the rest.
We’ll ask a few simple questions, match you with the right therapist, and go from there. No pressure. No judgment. Just a conversation.
You can book directly online, call us, or fill out the form and we’ll get back to you within one business day.

Things you're probaby wondering right now.

Will you think I’m a bad mom if I tell you how I really feel?

Never. We have heard it all. The scary thoughts, the anger, and the moments where you just want to walk out the door. We don’t judge you. We help you understand why your brain is doing this so you can start to feel like yourself again.

Is this just the "Baby Blues"?

The “blues” usually go away in a week or two. If you still feel sad, scared, or “not there” after that, it is likely something more. You don’t have to wait for it to get “bad enough” to ask for help. If you feel like you are struggling, that is enough for us.

Can I bring my baby to our session?

Yes. Always. You don’t need to find a sitter to get help. Whether we meet on a screen or in the office, your baby is welcome. We can work around feedings, naps, and crying. We get it.

I don’t have time for this. How long does it take?

We know your schedule is not your own right now. We make it as easy as possible to talk. You don’t have to get all dressed up or even leave your house if you choose video sessions. We focus on giving you tools you can use right away to make your days feel lighter.

It's okay to say this is hard.

You love your baby, but you are running on empty. You don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine. We provide a space where you can be honest about the mess, the tired, and the dark moments. We’re here when you’re ready.

ADHD

ADHD is more than just trouble focusing. It can make it hard to manage your time, handle your feelings, stay organized, and finish daily tasks.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

You might lose track of time or put things off, even when you care about them.

You may start lots of projects but not finish them.

Simple tasks can feel overwhelming, and it might feel like you’re always trying to catch up or forget important things.

Your feelings can change quickly or feel very strong. You might get frustrated easily, feel extra sensitive to criticism, or feel hurt by rejection.

Many people with ADHD feel like they have to work much harder than others just to keep up, which can make them very tired or doubt themselves.

HOW THERAPY HELPS:

Therapy can help you find ways that work for your brain. You’ll learn easy tricks for getting organized, managing your time, and handling big feelings.

Therapy can also help you feel better about yourself, even if you’ve felt “behind” or not good enough for a long time.
